Checking In

So, I started the 100 Push Ups challenge this week. I've done two days. I have to say, it isn't too difficult. By the end of the sets of push-ups I'm ready for it to be over but I'm not experiencing too much soreness. I'm excited to see how strong I'm going to be by the end of the 6 week challenge.

I weighed in today. I fell short of my goal but still had a decent loss. I blame the horrible eating I did at Sunday's Super Bowl party! ;)

Starting weight: 305.8
Last week: 295.4
Today: 293.4

I'm going to set the same three pound goal for next week. I'm getting into the swing of things and becoming better at avoiding things I shouldn't eat. Next week is Valentine's Day and I promised the kids chocolate fondue for dessert. I plan on indulging but I'll be making the fondue with 70% dark chocolate and heavy cream so at least I'll feel good about it because it won't be full of crap.

I'm overhauling everything we eat in this house. I have told the kids that any candy they are given at school as a reward/treat will be handed over to me and put into a container for special occasions. They are allowed to participate in parties at school and eat all the junk they can while they are there but anything that comes home becomes family property. I am not buying bread/cereal/pasta anymore. I am also packing their lunches. They love taking their lunch to school and haven't complained about the lack of bread. I'm still letting them eat breakfast at school. I may let that continue through the end of this year. That will give me the whole summer to convert them to eating something besides simple carbs in the morning. Baby steps!
